The Copa Clásica de Tenerife is an event for historical cars.

The rally runs over 3 days with 1 prolog and 2 stages and the total distance is appr. 600 km with 10 Regularity Test Sections on roads partly closed to public traffic. Relevant for the score version is the exact compliance with the prescribed average speed which will be set at 50 km/h maximum. The skillful handling of the car, orientation and constant driving will be evaluated. High speeds and fastest times will not be decisive for this event.

The interval between the cars is 1 minute.

The breakdown of the route as well as its time controls, passage controls, neutralisation periods etc. are described on the Time Card and in the Road Book which will give the crews all information they require to complete the route correctly (as for example tulip diagrams, maps, etc.).

The Copa Clásica de Tenerife

Classique Event has been asked to nominate 30 cars from the European mainland for this Event.
The transport will be realized using a roll- on ferry under supervision and escort by Classique Event.
A Rally on the volcano. Tenerife is considered as the island of the superlative.

Hilly passages up to the Pico de Teide, the highest mountain of Spain, with 3,717 m above sea level. Europe's largest crater, the Caldera de Cañadas del Teide. You will drive on mountain roads with breath-taking views, far above the clouds, and see the nearby islands of Gran Canaria, Gomera and La Palma. We will climb up to 8,000 meters on one day and swim in the sea in the evening.

You will stay at the luxurious five star Hotel Mencey, in Santa Cruz.
Your car will have a roofed stand in the exhibition center of the capital Santa Cruz.
You will become acquainted with the canarian cuisine and the outstanding wines of the island.
The routing and the contest will be in the hands of rally-director Uwe Schmidt, (The Organization). The overall management will be done by Classique Event and Copa Clásica S.L. .

The event will take place in the second week of March 2002 and altogether last one week.
On the island of eternal spring, we will enjoy the most beautiful season together.
